What is the CCNSG Safety Passport?

Setters have a long and successful record as accredited Passport Trainers and have awarded over 18,000 Passports.

The contractor safety training scheme was designed by clients such as ICI & Shell to provide a common safety training standard nationwide. The client base has now been extended into others sectors such as Steel, Paper and Local Authorities.

The scheme assists in achieving the clients' goals of improved safety performance. From its conception in 1995 the subscribing client base has grown significantly and currently there are over 500,000 individual contractors certificated.

Course Aims:

To ensure that contractor personnel working in process industries are trained and assessed to a minimum standard of safety competency prior to commencement of work on site, with the aim of ensuring that they do not present a danger to themselves or others. The scheme allows clients to focus inductions on site specific issues with the assurance that contractors have the benchmark knowledge obtained through the scheme. The training extends over 2 days for operatives with a further day for Supervisors.

Key Areas:

Safe Behaviour at Work: Identify reasons for people making mistakes or not working safely; Suggest how Consequences Shape Behaviour; Discuss the effects of past experience and habit on unsafe behaviour patterns.
Safe Place of Work: Confined Space Entry; Excavations; Permit to Work Systems; Safe Use of Access Equipment and Working at Heights; Site Transport; Protecting the Environment; Safe Lifting and Manual Handling.
Safe Systems of Work: Asbestos; Hazardous Substances; LOLER; PUWER; Electricity; Isolation; Hand-Arm Vibration; Noise.

Pre-requisite Knowledge:

Safety Passport
The course is delivered in English and therefore a prerequisite of this course
is that delegates are fluent in the English language.

Who is it for:

All contractor personnel who work in the Client's process industries nationwide

Venue:

Greenfield Business Centre or Client Premises
Courses at Greenfield start at 9am. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start.

Validity:

The Passport requires updating every 3 years (expiry date on passport), by a 1 day Renewal course.
