ALPHA - first letter of the Greek alphabet,  or a place our conscious mind goes when our subconscious is taking care of the day to day tasks of life.....like driving that same route to work!

But Alpha State has its limitations. It is a kind of sleep and unless the triggers are immediately in front of you, our conscious mind will not be brought back from its virtual trip....and guess what, Alpha usually has a part to play in most accidents.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION - just recognising Alpha is 'a state' we, and those around us, all need go to from time to time to stay sane (our brains chill-out place), will save someone. Using it in humour is most effective, in the UK we like 'banter', using the word in chat and banter will share the message and have positive effects.

QUESTION - As a Focus Leader how have you communicated the concept of 'Alpha' to your teams, and what challenges have you faced.
