PHILOSOPHY

The culture of an organisation has a direct effect and impact on the performance, quality, efficiency, reliability and productivity of its business.  The culture of an organisation also has a direct effect on the quality of its Health & Safety vision and its’ fulfilment. It is the ‘filter’ that exists between aspiration and reality.

Culture change, begins with the attitudes of the individuals that make up a company.  In turn, attitudes stem from the conscious and subconscious choices of people at all levels in the company.  Health and Safety is an implicit element of Business Performance.  Business Performance and Excellence in Health and Safety are not incompatible.

The target of zero harm is totally dependent on the inter-relationship between systems and people; one cannot be successful without the other. Due to the power of conditioning and, as role models and authority figures, the leaders of the organisation are responsible for the attitudes of their people.
  • Congruence of the message is vital – ‘walk the talk’ or it will be perceived that you really don’t mean it
  • Positivity is the key to human change for the better
  • Self-image change and improvement is the only way to permanent positive changes in behaviour
  • Positive and sustained ‘culture change’ is holistic and embraces the whole organisation; Leaders, Managers, Supervisors and Core Teams. Everyone has a part to play.
